WEEK ONE - 87.0KG

READY, SET, GO!

Ok so I was supposed to come back and post this the very next day, but never had the time to sit down for more than 5mins without being interrrupted!

STARTING WEIGHT - Monday 17th June 87.4KG
WEEK 1 WEIGH-IN - Monday 25th June 87.0kg

In my first week, I learnt a few things. Fruits, and sweet veges are not so good when trying to drop weight quickly. I found myself eating roasted pumpkin. Even Broccoli has higher carbs! Having the My Fitness Pal app on my phone came in handy. Not to count calories, but to count carbs. I got in touch with Michelle on facebook, via her page Primal Journey, and she had some really good advice. To get right into the ketosis mode, limiting carbs to 20g a day works. Expect calorie intake to rise, but its all good coz its fat calories.  Sunday was a day where we were out and about, so I opted for a salad from Burger King - never again. it was crap. a handful of shredded lettuce thrown on a polystyrene plate, top with two (yes, just TWO) slices of tomato, and a fatty (the bad fats!) chicken fillet hacked into 3 pieces chucked on top. Not even a fork to eat it with!!

Exercise, not so much this week. Did a 30min workout on our crosstrainer, and a body balance class at the gym.

So far in this second week, I have been trying to make better choices, and am feeling great! Its a very weird thing when you dont need to eat everything on your plate. Yesterday I didnt even feel like lunch, I just wasnt hungry.

Our flatmate came to live with us at the end of April, quite overweight. Well he adopted the Primal eating habits, and has been shedding weight so fast! about 12kg so far, his answer when people ask him how? "meat for breakfast" and boy does he get some weird looks!

Exercise this week? Crosstrainer, Body Balance and Pump Class at the gym today, hopefully zumba (just coz I love it) tomorrow.

I had a sneak peak at the scales this morning, and Im quite happy with what I saw! lets see what monday brings!

About Me

So here I am, just an ordinary kiwi, living in Perth with my hubby and our two kiddies, aged 3 and 1. We are having an adventure (hopefully a money-making one!) before we return home to NZ in a few years time.  I am 30yrs old, and about 20kgs too heavy.

I am new to blogging, and figured this was a good way to start my new journey, walking the primal pathway, to finding a healthier and thinner me.

In the last month or so, we have taken steps to start a primal lifestyle. We banished grains, sugars, potatoes, legumes and all those man-made foods that people worldwide love to eat. So far it hasnt been that bad, tho I am still learning things as I go along.

 I am Insulin Resistant and have PCOS so a diet low in sugars sounds like a very good way to start!

My Goal

Reduce Weight
Loose Bodyfat
Get Healthy!! (minimise PCOS and Insulin Resistance)
